Our Purpose
Purposed 414 was a blog created to equip this generation to live life on purpose. This blog provides students with service opportunities in the surrounding areas as well as some specifically Purposed 414 sponsored events. You will find posts about what it means to live with purpose and stories of people who inspire us to do so updated regularly. Soon there will be a section dedicated to our children by giving them opportunities to grow their dreams as well as coloring pages designed by local youth. The goal of Purposed 414 is to equip students of all ages with tools on an emotional and mental level suitable to them.
How Purposed 414 Got Started
Purposed 414 was created by Michaela Parker, a Miss America Outstanding Teen contestant in the Upstate of South Carolina. After seeking God's purpose and will in her own life, she was inspired to teach her peers what she had learned. She created the four steps to living a purposed life, and then began to find ways that students can apply them to her daily life. She created this blog with that very purpose in mind.
Why is the 414 so important in Purposed 414?
The 414 in Purposed 414 represents the verse in the Bible that inspired this blog's creation. Esther 4:14 says "...Perhaps you were created for such a time as this." Esther had the choice to put her life on the line, or remain silent and watch as her people were destroyed. This was her moment, the exact reason she was crowned. We all have a purpose in life, whether it be to save a generation, or to serve those around us, each person has a significant part of God's plan. But what would happen if we didn't pursue a life filled with purpose? What would happen if we stumbled aimlessly through life without pursuing dreams and serving others? As a generation, as well as individuals, we have endless potential, but if we waste that potential we could miss endless possibilities to change our families, our cities, and even our world. This is why Purposed 414 is so adamant about guiding young people to live purposefully and serve those around them.
