1. Do your best with the gifts you have been given to serve those around you!
This first step simply means that use the gifts you have been given. If you have a beautiful singing voice, don't hide it, but find ways you can use it to serve others like singing in nursing homes or on a praise team. If you play basketball, you might use it to mentor younger kids in your neighborhood. We all have a gift, finding yours and developing it is the first step in finding your life's purpose.
2. Dream Big
In order to find your purpose you have to first start by dreaming big. There is a dream inside your heart. Maybe it is that dream you have been pursuing for a while, or maybe it is that dream you have never shared but always hoped to fulfill. This is the best place to find purpose. I am not saying that this is definitely what you were called to do, but in order to get to that place you have to start somewhere. When I was little I dreamed of being a ballerina. This lead to joining a ballet class, which lead to me discovering that I could not dance, but further drove my love for music into me. Now I plan to major in music and help people through a music ministry. While we may not know where life will take us, if we never dream we will never go anywhere.
3.Chase Those Dreams
Alright, so you've got your dream? The next step is to chase it. If you never add action to your dreams, they will remain just that- DREAMS. Turn dreams into reality by taking whatever course of action is needed to make your dreams a reality. If you dream of being a great athlete, you need to practice. If you dream of being a doctor, you need to start studying. Dreams are not meant to stay dreams, they are instead created to propel you towards your purpose.
4.Encourage others to do the same
Now that you are on your way to fulfilling your purpose you have a new responsibility. You must share what you have learned with others. Encourage those around you to serve or to pursue the dreams that they have. There is no limit to what the people of our generation can accomplish if we work together and push one another towards our purpose.
